ROYAL SIGNALS: THE WHITE HELMETS MOTORBIKE DISPLAY TEAM
A unique partnership between this unit of the British Army was forged in 2000. A voluntary mission of 10 soldiers takes place annually to repair and paint the school. Together with Virgin Atlantic Air, Southern Sun Hotels, Legacy Hotels, Avis Car Hire, Dulce Cafe’s, Rich’s Foods, Liptons Iced Tea, Brand Strategy, Ocean Basket, the Gourmet Garage, the Spur Restaurant Group, Woolworth’s Greenside, Norman Goodfellows, Wiesenhoff Coffee’s, Ciro’s, Pick ‘n Pay, Seemann’s Butchery, and other donors, the soldiers undertake arduous labour which has saved the school many hundreds of thousands of Rands over the years. Without this help, the buildings, which are old and in need of extensive maintenance, would be unfit for occupation. The bonds the soldiers have forged with the children over the years, have been most beneficial to their sense of wellbeing and self-worth.
We thank these donors who have been loyal supporters over the last decade, to make the only foreign outreach of the Royal Signals White Helmet Motorbike Display Team, a success. See www.whitehelmets.co.uk.
